Testimonials

“You’re the best thank you so much. I really appreciate you !!!!!, I don’t like learning from other people with unreliable sources, who literally translate the way they want and don’t give the information over correctly, just adds confusion all these “courses” . I only want to hear from you, a reliable source.”

Washington, D.C. – April 8, 2021:
The American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) is proud to announce Nelia S. Adaci, RNC, BSN, CDONA, DNS-CT, RAC-CTA, Chief Operating Officer of The CHARTS Group (TCG) in Lakewood, New Jersey, as the 2020 recipient of the Education Award. Recipients will be recognized during the ACHCA Convocation Virtual Experience (April 13-27, 2021).

The prestigious Education Award recognizes an individual for educational programs that, because of their content, innovative approach, or other special components, have made an outstanding contribution to professional education in long-term care.  A Certified Gerontological RN who has over 25 years of experience in diverse clinical settings, Adaci has earned the respect of colleagues as a prominent speaker and gained a reputation as being on the leading edge of teaching PDPM and Compliance.

Adaci educates administrators, nurses, and other healthcare professionals for the successful implementation of CMS mandates and state regulations.  Those who nominated her for the award noted that her education focuses on the development of skills and competency to elevate the quality of care leading to better patient outcomes.  She is applauded for having practiced as a nurse in long-term care and therefore understands the needs of aging adults.

Nominator and ACHCA member, Tzvi Barax, Administrator, Dumont Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing Care, notes “Nelia has been, in many ways, my ‘go to’ resource for clear-headed practical advice and clarifying perspective - always bringing unique insights and wisdom to a myriad of administrative and institutional issues.”

Below is a message from Annette C. Swick (Toni), RN:

To whom it may concern,

Please be advised of the following information regarding Nelia Kennedy, RN Consultant. During my last few years of employment, I met Nelia, as she was a consultant to the facility that I was most recently employed. The facility was a broken one with the most important elements of the MDS missing. Being a DON for many years, I knew that the MDS tool and its accuracy had to be updated for the financial survival of the facility. Nelia was amazing; she helped interview coordinators, educated the staff, took the most complicated aspects of the MDS and simplified them through her expertise and created an environment of accountability with those staff members responsible for completing an accurate MDS. Nelia not only educated our RN’s but, every nurse and nursing assistant was part of the educational process, necessary to paint an accurate picture of our resident. The MDS wore many hats and Nelia always made sure that they all fit through her skills as an educator. Nelia was a breath of fresh air to our profession.

During this period of time, I served as President of NJADONA, and we were always looking for speakers. Nelia of course, graciously accepted this challenge and it was wonderful how unselfishly she shared her knowledge to nurses of New Jersey. Our evaluations for our convention indicated that they wanted her back, and she has been speaking ever since. Nelia has touched many nurses and especially me. She is a hero.

Respectfully,
Annette C. Swick (Toni), RN
